I was just split up with my husband, had just found a job to support my children, as he was in rehab and very adamant about having the courts set support issues, so we had nothing at all. It was middle of December, and just finally finding a job and trying to keep the house heated, I had no money for Christmas presents, but I was making some. A week before Christmas I came home and went down my front stairs to get the mail. I usually keep my front door locked, but on the front stairs were 10 paper bags filled with Christmas presents. For the correct ages too. I cried for an hour that someone took the time to think about me and to do this for a complete stranger. I still have no idea who did this. My children had a Christmas that I didn't think they would have, and my heart was so very glad.
Since that time I have always gone to a local church and selected a tag from their tree of giving and gotten everything on the list. You never know who will need the help. I never thought I'd be in that situation.
